Q&A
What is the dress code?
Our wedding is formal -- for us this means a step above cocktail attire and a step below black-tie. An elegant dress, jumpsuit, or pantsuit. No tuxedo needed for gentlemen, a jacket and tie or traditional suit are just fine. Remember March in Vermont (especially in the Mountains) will still be rather chilly with high possibility of snow on the ground.
The rest of the weekend you should feel free to come as you are -- we can't wait to celebrate with you!
Are there accommodations other than the Mountain Top Inn & Resort?
Our only room blocks are located at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort, but there are a number of accommodations between 10 - 30 minutes away in the Rutland/Killington area. It is our wish that all guests can stay close to the festivities and avoid getting behind the wheel after the celebrations, while there may be more accommodations near the Inn there is no reliable Uber/Lyft/Taxi/Public Transportation system. Please plan accordingly.
Will you all be skiing? We would love to hit the slopes with you!
We will! We are planning to head to Killington Ski Mountain Monday and Tuesday before we head on our honeymoon. We would love nothing more than to spend some time on the slopes with our best people & enjoy some more Après-ski!
Will I have cell signal in the mountains?
Cell service is limited in the mountains, but the resort has complimentary wifi both in the Main Inn and in all guest homes. If you plan on taking a day trip to a ski mountain, we recommend mapping it on your phone before you head off property.
What activities does the Mountain Top Inn offer during the winter?
There is a spa, sauna, and winter activities like cross country skiing (including all rentals), ice skating, and horse drawn sleigh rides. For more information on winter/spring activities click here. In addition, the resort has a pre-arrival concierge service. If you have a confirmed reservation, and are looking to book an amenity or have questions about your upcoming stay, check out the service here.
Are there other wedding festivities that we should plan to attend?
Mindy and Jon Freedman will be hosting a welcome party on Friday night with drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres in the Tavern at the Mountain Top Inn, in addition to a Farewell brunch on Sunday. For more information on weekend events please see the Weekend Events page. We would love to see you for either or both of these events if your travel permits. Curtis & MK will be arriving to the Mountain Top Inn on Thursday, March 9th and checking out on Wednesday, March 15th.
Is there a place to grab a bite to eat outside of wedding festivities?
Yes! The Inn offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The tavern on site is also a great place to grab a snack and libation. You can also explore the area to find local restaurants and pubs in the Killington or Rutland areas.
We are staying in a Guest Home on property, will we be able to cook?
Yes! Guests who are staying in a Guest Home on property have the same access to the Restaurant & Tavern at the Inn while also having the comforts of a fully furnished kitchen (like an Airbnb). There are grocery stores in both Killington and Rutland for guests to stock up on snacks, drinks, and milk for their coffee.
